Is it because cigarette and beer (and Smirnoff Ice) sponsors are SO much better than hard liquor sponsors?

What's Diageo? Is this something "goood ol' boys" drink? I suddenly feel like an out of touch New Englander. Who among us is not a Diageo fan?
Diageo, from what I gather, is the parent company of Smirnoff, Johnnie Walker, Guinness, Bailey's, J&B, Captain Morgan, Cuervo and Tanqueray.
Maybe if you mix them all together you come up with a drink called Diageo.
