Are we sure Huckabee's first name isn't Francois?

More from the People's State of Arkansas:

Guvnah signs minimum wage hike.

Question, Guvnah: Where are the people only capable of doing, say, $5.50 an hour worth of work going to work?

Some of those people are going to work in a county "sheltered workshop," that you, as a taxpayer, will help subsidize. I worked for cash once for a guy I knew who had a recycling business that got a lot of work out of the, well, "retards" at the "sheltered workshop" and it is truly a make-work program for a lot of folks. We'd show up in the truck, and the workshop folks would swarm the truck like a bunch of enthusiastic puppies, cep'n for the creme de la differently-abled, who knew they were different, and they'd wait until the truly "off" backed off and then help us unload. The director of the Current River Sheltered Workshop told me that his main goal was to try to get the most "able" folks trained to show up to work on time and develop good work habits so eventually they could get actual jobs in the real world and support themselves. Sad thing is, even the most capable of these mostly 20-ish year old men would occasionally disappear from their work stations and "chase butterflies" or try to get blow-jobs (this worked about 2/3 of the time, from what I understand) from the more retarded girls in the workshop. Sad, but true.

Too bad about the loss of the $3 12-packs of Schlitz Ice. I seem to remember Pabst 12-packs for $4 or so in West Plains all the time when I'd drive back to Springfield, and dangit, at the time, you could generally only get 3.2 beer in Springfield on Sundays, so one would be forced, after counting 12 empties, upon rolling into the Grand and National Conoco's parking lot, to resort to picking up an extra Bud/Miller/Coors Mormon (three-two) sixer to have with one's supper of fajitas/pizza/mac n cheese.
