12 yr. old son to dad: Don't mutilate my pee-pee!
Oregon courts to son: You'll take your circumcision, and you'll LIKE it!
UPDATE: Since there seems to be some confusion about whether or not the child wants the procedure done, I've dug a little deeper and found this:
The father made an appointment for a circumcision in 2004. But the mother
responded by going to court, saying her son told her that he was afraid to defy
his father, but didn't want the procedure.
I have to wonder, if the father had joined Heaven's Gate, would the courts let him have his son castrated? What if he wanted his son to have a tattoo?

Um, no, the kid wants it done -- or claims to. How "informed" that "informed consent" actually is can and should of course be debated.
The kid ought to have his own court-appointed lawyer in this. I'm not sure why he doesn't.
Most places don't let kids get body piercings, tattoos, or other body mods until they're 18. Why let them cut off half their dick skin before they've started to really enjoy it?
From what I've read, the dad says the boy wants it, the mom says the boy doesn't want it. So it sounds like to me he's just scared of his parents and saying what they want to hear. Who knows what he really wants.
I first heard about this on one of the night shows on WHAS-AM out of Louisville. I think it was the Bill Elliot show, and his impression was that the kid was willing to practice his father's Jewish faith in all other regards but not this one.
