Another way Eminent Domain is used.

To take land for no purpose at all.

William Kearns, an attorney for the New Jersey League of Municipalities, which joined the township in the suit, said the ruling clarifies open space preservation as a valid use if for no other reason than "just to sit there."


So your land can be taken because it's not sufficiently developed. And it can be taken because it is (or might become) TOO developed. Welcome to the U.S.S.A. No property is safe.

It reminds me of the profiles of plane passengers that tell us to be especially vigilant of those in the front of the line, those trying to blend in the middle, and those at the rear.
