The 3" grass you mention-well, last night I was watching the local Fox channel's 9 PM news broadcast, and sure enough, some researchers are developing "poverty grass" which doesn't look as pretty as, like bluegrass or something, but never grows more than three or four inches high. When I build my "compound" I may have to consider this stuff for ground cover, because unlike Hank Hill, I do not care for lawn care-if I'm messing around with growing stuff, I ought to be able to eat/smoke/drink it in some form or other.
