SCOTUS: Quit trying to be cute with Miranda rights, cops.
It's very simple, cops. Read them their rights. Quit trying to find loopholes around Miranda.
In other words, do your job the way you KNOW it's supposed to be done.
Novel concept.

Yet Miranda was made up out of thin air by the feds.
Hmm.
But the reality is that we have it now, and it's not really an unreasonable demand -- that arrestees be notified of their rights.
What rankles me is that the police don't want US to try to find cute little loopholes around the law, yet they seem more than willing to probe for those loopholes themselves.
If anything, the police should be MORE cautious about skirting the law than normal citizens are, not less.
