Habitat for Humanity using eminent domain?

Buried in this piece about why it's taking longer for Marshall and H4H to build a Habitat house than it should [emphasis mine.]:


"We're certainly not stalling for any particular reason other than people have to understand and be patient," he said. "When we entered into this partnership with the city of the Artisan Avenue redevelopment project, we took on the challenge of building five homes there. This being the first of five. When anytime you are claiming a piece of property off of eminent domain these are the types of obstacles an organization has to face."

Why Minnesota Sucks, 8/17/07 edition.

Just moved Minnesota from the "Rocks!" column to the "Sucks!" column.

AND added the Twins to the list of Landthieves.

Bastards.

The Minnesota Twins will break ground Aug. 30 on a new $522-million baseball stadium, though first a moderating panel will decide Monday how much the current property owners will be compensated for the site, on Third Avenue between Fifth and Seventh streets. Hennepin County has acquired the site, a former parking lot and rail line, through eminent domain, but is arguing before the panel that the land is only worth about $14 million, and not the $65 million the owners claim.
